Information

Kilgore College Bands and Instrumental Music programs offer students multiple ways to grow as performers, musicians, and leaders through ensemble participation, applied study, and music coursework. Students can gain experience in concert and athletic band settings, develop fundamentals such as tone, technique, intonation, and sight-reading, and strengthen musicianship through rehearsal and performance. The programs emphasize teamwork, discipline, and musical communication while providing opportunities to represent the college on campus and in the community. Instrumental students may also explore music theory, ear training, and music history to support their performance goals, and they can prepare for transfer, auditions, scholarships, or careers that value advanced musical skill. Below are the other musical ensembles you can join: Wind Symphony The Kilgore College Wind Symphony (MUEN 2122) meets in Spring semesters each year, performing a wide variety of symphonic and popular music literature for the concert band. They present two major performances during the semester and provide a musical outlet for those who enjoy performing on the concert stage. Jazz Ensemble Jazz Ensemble (MUEN 2125) is a select ensemble of standard jazz band instrumentation. Jazz Ensemble repertoire includes all 20th-century jazz, rock, and blues. Students are allowed solo and improvisatory opportunities. The Jazz Ensemble performs several concerts and guest performances across the East Texas area. KC Steel KC Steel is a select ensemble performing on steel drums. The ensemble performs concerts and guest performances across the East Texas area. If you're interested in participating, you should contact KC Band Director Derrick Logozzo at dlogozzo@kilgore.edu or 214-450-3466 to sign up.
