Emily Gurwitz - Professional Development

Emily Gurwitz is available for professional development for band directors. Emily has a hands-on approach to her classes, so that a normally dull day can be fun and full of great information to take back to your campus. Below are possible topics for professional development: UIL Concert and Sight Reading preparation (Participants bring an instrument to play in a group.) Region/All-State band preparation concepts (Participants may bring their primary instruments.) Flute 101 (Participants bring a flute.) Block Scheduling (This PD has a framework to give ideas on how to keep students motivated and progressing with a 90-minute AB block schedule.) Other professional development topics can be created upon request. Any of the topics above can be combined for a day-long professional development, or individual topics can be made shorter or longer as needed.
