Emily Gurwitz - Flute Masterclasses

Ms. Gurwitz is available for both high school and middle school flute masterclasses in San Antonio and the surrounding area. The masterclasses are a tailored fit to your program and the curriculum needed for the specific time of year. Beginner Flutists: Emily can help you get your beginner flutists started correctly, making sure their embouchures, hand and wrist positions are in place. She can also ensure that students play with proper air support and other related fundamental concepts. Middle School Concert Band Flutists: Emily can help to get your flute section ready for UIL Concert and Sight reading Assessment and solo and ensemble contest, by making sure they play with proper fundamentals. She will also make sure that their music is performed at a high level with great tuning, articulation, and characteristic vibrato. High School Concert Band Flutists: Emily has over 35 years of experience working with high school flute students preparing for TMEA Region/All-State auditions. She is also available to teach both flute and woodwind sectionals in order to help students get ready for UIL.
